Why Choose Transitional Year at Riverside Methodist Hospital
Our residency program is designed to bring you up to speed smoothly, while learning from the best minds in the field.
An Exceptional Curriculum Guided by You
Our Transitional Year Residency curriculum is a hybrid of academic and bedside teaching experiences that emphasize internal medicine and surgery, with exposure to a variety of subspecialties. The program is challenging, but that is why many of our residents select it.
Transitional residents are seamlessly integrated into our care teams, with the same expectations and opportunities as your categorical counterparts. While you will always have supervision and support, you will also be given progressive autonomy and a sense of ownership over your patients.
This reliance on your expertise, combined with the learning opportunities the hospital provides, will ensure you are fully prepared for any advanced programs you choose. And you will have the added benefit of a schedule that allows you to explore electives you believe will give you an advantage or help fulfill your aspirations as you continue your career.
Other ways we will help you succeed
As a Transitional Year resident, you will be set up for success in your PGY2 program and beyond by a strong curriculum and unmatched experiences. But that’s not all. You will be supported by talented faculty, develop close bonds with your fellow residents, and have resources available to you that can only be found at an organization like OhioHealth.
