Why Choose Preliminary Medicine at Riverside Methodist?
Our residency program will bring you up to speed smoothly, with guidance from the best minds in the field.
A Foundational Curriculum, with Flexibility
Our Preliminary Medicine Residency curriculum balances academic and bedside learning experiences so residents develop a robust internal medicine skill set they can build upon throughout their career. The program is challenging, but that is why many of our residents select it.
In addition to your core rotations, you will be encouraged to pursue a variety of subspecialty electives that align with your aspirations. We believe this is the best way to fully prepare you for any advanced programs you choose. And while you will always have supervision and support, you will be held to the same expectations as your categorical counterparts. As the year progresses, you will be given more autonomy over your patients and seamlessly integrated into our care teams.
Other ways we will help you succeed
As a preliminary medicine resident, you will be set up for success in your PGY2 program and beyond by a strong curriculum and extensive experiences. But that’s not all. You will be supported by talented faculty, develop close bonds with your fellow residents, and have resources available to you that can only be found at an organization like OhioHealth.
